Well Lived and Exist

Both look for what moves your mood and energy. Exist gathers data from the apps and devices you already use; Well Lived starts from a log of your whole day.

Choose Exist for automatic data from many services and one mood rating a day. Choose Well Lived to log what you actually did, hour by hour, with how each part felt.

What Exist does well

Exist connects to far more services than Well Lived does, including Apple Health, Garmin, Withings and Strava (Exist integrations). Once it's connected there is little to do each day: rate your mood and let the data arrive. Its correlations look across everything it collects, and you can run experiments on them. It costs less, at $6.99 a month (exist.io).

How Well Lived is different

Well Lived starts from a log of what you did: every stretch of the day with a start, an end and, if you like, how it felt. That's what lets it answer "which activities lift me?" rather than "was today a good day?" You can say what you did in a sentence and get the entries drafted. Exist has no time log of its own and no AI features.

When to choose Exist

  • You use an Apple Watch or Garmin, or many connected services, and want them in one place.
  • You'd rather not log anything beyond a daily rating.

When to choose Well Lived

  • You want to see where your hours actually go and how each part of the day felt.
  • You're willing to spend a minute or two a day logging, by voice or by hand.
